BCarbon Signs Memorandum of Understanding with Kazakhstan’s Astana International Financial Centre (AIFC)

BCarbon announces a new partnership with the Astana International Financial Centre (AIFC), formalized through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding in Astana on November 24. The agreement marks an important step in strengthening Kazakhstan’s carbon market infrastructure and reflects a shared commitment to advancing high-integrity, transparent climate solutions. This collaboration also supports deeper engagement between Central Asia and U.S.-based companies and investors focused on credible climate action.

Under the MOU, BCarbon and AIFC establish a framework to integrate BCarbon’s measurement-based, nature-based carbon credit protocols with the AIFC Carbon Platform, which operates the environmental instruments market on the Astana International Exchange. The collaboration is designed to promote scientific rigor, transparency, and consistency in carbon credit development while expanding opportunities for project developers and market participants across the region.

This partnership represents an encouraging milestone for carbon market development in Kazakhstan and underscores the potential of international cooperation to drive meaningful climate outcomes. By aligning technical expertise, market infrastructure, and a shared commitment to integrity, BCarbon and AIFC are helping to build a foundation for credible carbon markets in Central Asia and beyond.
