BCarbon Launches The Carbon Table Speaker Series with Luncheon on Carbon Accounting

Last week, BCarbon hosted The Carbon Table speaker series luncheon: “Carbon Accounting: Understanding Today, Shaping Tomorrow,” convening industry leaders, Carbon Measures coalition members, project developers, landowners, Rice University affiliates, and key organizations from Houston’s climate ecosystem. Attendees’ affiliations including Elimini, Coastal Prairie Conservancy, Arva, Ryder Scott, LyondellBasell, Ineos, and others, reflecting broad cross-sector engagement in advancing credible carbon markets.

The event featured a fireside chat between Amy Brachio, CEO of Carbon Measures, and Madison Romo, BCarbon’s Operations & Engagement Coordinator, centered on the importance of practical, scientifically rigorous carbon accounting. Their discussion explored how improved accounting standards can strengthen market integrity, reduce double counting, and support the competitiveness of lower-carbon products in real-world markets. A lively audience Q&A highlighted both the complexity of the topic and the demand for implementable solutions.

Strong attendance and active participation underscored BCarbon’s role as a convener for high-integrity climate dialogue. Beyond operating a carbon registry, BCarbon continues to bring together researchers, market participants, land stewards, and corporate leaders to support climate solutions that are scientifically sound, economically viable, and operationally practical. The Carbon Table speaker series is part of BCarbon’s ongoing effort to keep its community informed and engaged around evolving climate and carbon market topics.
